The finals of the 2026 Feng Chia University Virtuosi Innovation Competition were held on May 22, reaching a new milestone in participation. This year’s competition attracted 148 teams, nearly 600 students, and more than 80 faculty advisors, showcasing the strong interdisciplinary innovation and hands-on development capabilities of Feng Chia University. Following an intense preliminary round, 50 outstanding teams advanced to the finals to present their projects, while an additional 33 teams received Potential Awards. The event earned widespread recognition from representatives of industry, government, academia, and research sectors.

To help faculty members and students stay ahead of emerging technology trends, the College of Information and Electrical Engineering at Feng Chia University and the Motech Smart City 5G Laboratory jointly hosted a special lecture titled “6G and AI: Why? What? and How?” on May 5, with support from the University’s 5G Faculty Professional Development Community. The event featured Li-Chun Wang, Dean of the College of Electrical and Computer Engineering at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), as the keynote speaker.

As quantum computing continues to evolve from laboratory research toward real-world industrial applications, Feng Chia University invited Professor Chia-Ho Ou, Dean of the College of Computer Science at National Pingtung University, to deliver a keynote lecture titled “Toward Practical Quantum Optimization: Insights from Multi-Disciplinary Domains” on April 30. The lecture explored how quantum technologies can be applied to complex optimization problems and highlighted interdisciplinary research and industrial case studies.

Jointly organized by Feng Chia University's Office of Technology Development, Office of Sustainability and Social Responsibility, and Office of Industry-Academia Operations and Promotion, the "2025 Feng Chia University Technology Innovation Application Competition" underwent nearly six months of submissions and preliminary reviews. On May 2, the grand final and exhibition were held on the 8th floor of the Science and Aeronautics Building. The competition encouraged students to use innovative technology to solve practical problems, cultivating interdisciplinary integration capabilities. It attracted 70 student teams and over 300 faculty and students from across the university. Ultimately, 41 teams stood out and advanced to the finals, competing in the two main themes of "Digital Applications" and "Sustainable Development," showcasing their achievements.

Silicon photonics sensing technology is creating a new wave in global smart health applications. To accelerate the practical implementation of this cutting-edge technology in the smart healthcare field, Feng Chia University's FCU-MIC Smart City 5G Lab and N&M, the world's first company to design silicon photonics sensing chips based on Si-CMOS processes, have partnered to host the "Silicon Photonics Sensing in Smart Health Innovation Applications Forum" on campus yesterday (27th). Experts from industry, government, and academia were invited to discuss how silicon photonics sensing technology can drive the development of the smart health industry and promote a 5G smart healthcare ecosystem covering detection, health management, and long-term care services.

With several key constructions in the park gradually being completed, today (27th), Feng Chia University officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Institute for Information Industry (III).
